Field report — Fishin' Frenzy
Fishin' Frenzy, read the way an engineer would read it
Real Time Gaming built this 5x3 reel set around one idea: the fisherman sits idle on the reels until the boat scatter triggers free spins, then he springs into action and starts grabbing prizes. The base game runs quiet with standard line wins, but once those boats land and the bonus round fires up, the fisherman becomes the main event, collecting fish symbols and turning them into instant cash awards while the spins keep rolling.

What the reels are actually running
Five reels, three rows, and a line count you set yourself: anywhere from 1 to 10 selectable paylines on the base game. Once the boat scatter triggers the feature, all 10 lines are locked on for the duration, whether you'd been running fewer or not.
| # | Field | Value |
|---|---|---|
| 01 | Provider | Real Time Gaming |
| 02 | Total stake per spin | 100 to 200,000 (or currency equivalent) |
| 03 | Lines in free games | 10, fixed |
| 04 | Maximum win | 250,000 / x250,000 total bet |
Line wins are read left to right, starting from the far left reel, across adjacent reels only. Each line pays out its single highest combination — not every match on it — and once every active line has been checked, the wins are simply added together for the spin total.
The boat is the only symbol that opens the feature
Land the boat scatter anywhere on the grid — it doesn't need to sit on an active line. Three, four or five of them decide how long the free games run, and the count is unforgiving: there's no partial credit for a near-miss on the fourth boat.
| # | Boats landed | Free games awarded |
|---|---|---|
| 01 | 3 boat scatters | 10 free games |
| 02 | 4 boat scatters | 15 free games |
| 03 | 5 boat scatters | 20 free games |
The fisherman only clocks in during free games
This is the detail worth knowing before you spin: the fisherman wild is completely absent from the base game. He appears exclusively once the free games are running, and while he's out there he substitutes for every symbol on the reels except the boat scatter itself. He can't help you land a fresh trigger — free games in Fishin' Frenzy do not retrigger, so the round you're given is the round you get, and no extra stake is taken to run it.
His real job is the catch. Every time a fisherman lands anywhere in view during a free spin, he collects the value tagged on every fish symbol currently on screen — not just the ones near him, all of them — and adds it straight to your feature total. A screen with several fish sitting untagged is a screen waiting for one fisherman to land.
| # | Fishermen in view | Value |
|---|---|---|
| 01 | 2 fishermen | 10 |
| 02 | 3 fishermen | 100 |
| 03 | 4 fishermen | 500 |
| 04 | 5 fishermen | 5,000 |
| # | Possible fish tag values on screen | ||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 01 | 20 | 50 | 100 | 150 | 200 | 250 | 500 |
What five in a row are worth
The high end of the paytable belongs to the catch itself: the pelican leads, the fishing rod and the hardware sit close behind, and the card royals fill out the bottom rung the way they do in most Real Time Gaming reel sets.

How a spin actually gets scored
- DirectionLeft to right only. Winning symbols must sit on consecutive reels starting from the leftmost reel.
- Per lineHighest combination wins. Only the top-paying match on each line is paid, not every partial match within it.
- Across linesWins are added. Every active line is scored on its own, then the results are summed for the spin.
- Free gamesNo retrigger. A fresh set of boat scatters during a free spin does not extend the round, and no stake is deducted while free games play out.
